Our Story
My name is Jennifer Davenport and I want to thank you for visiting JD’s All About Home! JD's is a family-owned business, and we opened our doors in March of 2016. My husband, Scott, uses his business management experience to run the "brains" of the operation, which allows me to focus on what I consider the "fun" part of the business.
2008
Jennifer Davenport officially began her interior design business, which she named "JD Designs". It was this business that ignited the journey of JD's All About Home. Her career blossomed over the years as she built a reputation in the community. However, if there was one hiccup, it was the time she spent traveling to surrounding cities to find the furnishings and decor needed to complete designs for her clients. There wasn't a store in Murfreesboro with the design style she was looking for to complete her designs.
March 16, 2016
Eventually she and her husband, Scott, decided to open a small store in Murfreesboro. It would not only help her meet the needs of her design business, but it would also be a way to let their light shine by showing love and hospitality to the community they love so much. So, with their family by their side, they laid the flooring, installed lighting, and brought to life the vision Jennifer had for a store. In 2016, JD’s All About Home opened its doors to the public!
Jennifer and her daughter-in-law Alice worked tirelessly to get the business off the ground. Scott and their son Josh provided muscle and back-office support as needed, and a few months later, their daughter Sarah joined the team. The welcoming response from the community was overwhelming. It seemed others were looking for a store just like Jennifer was, and they were happy to find JD's in Murfreesboro. The family business thrived and over the first few years the retail space expanded and eventually a small design center was added. With so much more space to offer goods and services to customers, JD’s continued to grow.
December 2020
Scott and Jennifer recognized the need to hire more help. With more employees came more skills added to the team- this helped JD’s provide customers an even better experience with each visit. Scott and Jennifer took the next big step for JD's, and that was to move to a stand-alone building!
July 24, 2021
After patience and prayers, the perfect building became available. With Jennifer's vision and Scott's hands-on direction, what was once a restaurant would be transformed into a stunning showroom for JD's.This new move gave the perfect space for an expanded design center and office space for Jennifer and her team of designers. After 7 months of construction, July 24th, the doors were open!
